Talia Bryan, LCSW, M.A.

Doctoral Intern

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Virginia and

have been practicing since 2015. Throughout my career, I have worked across a variety

of clinical settings, providing comprehensive mental health services to diverse

populations. My professional experience includes inpatient psychiatric hospitals,

outpatient mental health clinics, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Department

of Veterans Affairs (VA), where I have provided psychotherapy and behavioral health

services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

My clinical practice is grounded in an integrative approach that combines Cognitive

Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with psychodynamic principles to help clients gain insight into

underlying patterns while developing practical coping strategies for lasting change. I

also specialize in couples therapy and am a Level 3 Gottman-trained clinician, utilizing

evidence-based interventions to strengthen communication, increase emotional

connection, and improve relationship satisfaction. Additionally, I have experience

providing family therapy and supporting families through periods of conflict, transition,

and adjustment.

As a doctoral student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, I have

expanded my clinical expertise through advanced training in psychological assessment.

My assessment experience includes both generalized psychological evaluations and

neurocognitive assessments focused on diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.

Areas of assessment include depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders,

attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and cognitive functioning. I have also

conducted school-based psychological assessments through Friendship Academy,

contributing to educational planning and support services for children and adolescents.

My clinical interests center on psychological assessment, cognitive and

neuropsychological evaluation, diagnostic formulation, and evidence-based

psychotherapy. I am particularly interested in the integration of assessment findings into

treatment planning, helping individuals better understand their cognitive, emotional,

behavioral, and interpersonal functioning. I am also passionate about culturally

responsive mental health care, trauma-informed practice, and the use of assessment as

a tool to improve access to appropriate interventions and enhance client outcomes. As I

continue my professional development, I hope to further specialize in cognitive and

neuropsychological assessment while maintaining an active psychotherapy practice that

serves individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending quality time with my four-year-old

daughter, traveling, and maintaining an active lifestyle. I am an avid member of

Orangetheory Fitness and appreciate the importance of physical wellness as part of

overall mental health and well-being.
