Sahar Dehghani, M.A.

Doctoral Intern

Sahar Dehghani is a Doctoral Intern in Clinical Psychology with experience providing individual and group psychotherapy, as well as psychological assessments, to children, adolescents, and adults. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client-Centered therapy, while integrating elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and family systems theory. 

Sahar is passionate about working with culturally diverse populations and strives to incorporate clients’ cultural values into the treatment and evaluation process. Sahar has received clinical training at The Treatment and Learning Centers in Gaithersburg, MD, where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults. She also completed an externship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, serving a diverse age group. In addition, Sahar has provided comprehensive psychological assessments at private practices in Virginia and Maryland for all age groups. 

Her clinical interests include psychoeducational, Autism, and personality assessments, as well as individual and group therapy for those experiencing challenges with emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 

Sahar is currently a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School, where she also earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. She previously received a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The City College of New York. Sahar is fluent in Farsi. In her free time, she enjoys reading psychological thrillers.
