Meghan O'Brien, PMHNP-BC

Meghan O’Brien is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed to practice in Virginia and is available for both in-person and telehealth visits. She has a passion for helping individuals navigate through life’s challenges while working towards achieving their optimal health and wellness. Her approach is patient-centered and collaborative. She believes that healing happens through connection, trust, and individualized treatment plans which include both medication management and non-pharmacologic options. Her goal is to support her patients in finding balance and feeling empowered in their own mental health journeys.
Ms. O’Brien works with children, adolescents, and adults (ages 10-60), who arestruggling with a variety of mental health diagnoses including ADHD, anxiety, and depression, but has a special interest in women’s health and perinatal mood disorders.
Ms. O’Brien holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Goodwin University. As a registered nurse, she has dedicated the majority of her career to working in women’s health and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Her extensive experience – spanning from delivery and neonatal resuscitation, to postpartum care, to the NICU – gives her a unique and comprehensive perspective while working with perinatal women. Outside of work, you can find her spending time with friends and family, reading, doing yoga, or playing with her cats.
