President and Owner

Dr. Jennifer Shore is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Founder, Owner, and President of Fairfax Mental Health & Wellness, Inc., established in 2013. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and is a certified ADHD specialist. Dr. Shore’s assessment approach emphasizes in-depth, integrative evaluations that examine the full range of neurocognitive functioning while incorporating collateral information from patients and their families. With over 20 years of experience, she is particularly skilled in data interpretation and synthesis, allowing her to develop clear cognitive profiles, accurate diagnoses, and practical, individualized recommendations.
In addition to neuropsychological evaluations, Dr. Shore conducts pre-surgical psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery, spinal cord stimulator implantation, and in vitro fertilization (IVF). She also provides fitness-for-duty evaluations for individuals whose mental health concerns are impacting their occupational functioning.
Dr. Shore offers supportive cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals experiencing generalized anxiety, post-traumatic stress, autism, ADHD, depression, and bipolar disorder. She believes in a holistic treatment model that integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with attention to nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness to address presenting concerns.
Dr. Shore is also deeply committed to training the next generation of mental health professionals and serves as a clinical supervisor to doctoral interns. She views mentorship and supervision as a vital contribution to the field of psychology.
Her training experiences span a wide range of clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, therapeutic nurseries, medical hospitals, and private practices. Throughout her career, Dr. Shore has conducted therapy as well as neuropsychological, psychological, and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Shore began her clinical training during her master’s program with an internship at a short-stay inpatient psychiatric hospital, where she conducted intake assessments, group and family therapy, and participated in case management and discharge planning for children and adolescents. During her doctoral training, she worked in a therapeutic nursery providing therapy and psychological assessments for children ages three to five. She later trained at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital’s Neuropsychology Center, where she conducted evaluations for children and adolescents with a wide range of medical and neurodevelopmental conditions, including seizure disorders, brain tumors, coma, ADHD, and autism. She also provided therapy services at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital and at Children’s National Medical Center within the Hematology and Oncology clinic. Dr. Shore completed her training at a private practice in Northern Virginia, providing therapy and assessment services across the lifespan for individuals with presentations ranging from anxiety and depression to ADHD, autism, and psychotic disorders.
Dr. Shore earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from West Virginia University and her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Radford University. She completed her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree at the American School of Professional Psychology. Originally from Ohio, Dr. Shore enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and traveling internationally.
Dr. Shore is a member of PSYPACT, an interstate compact that facilitates the practice of telepsychology and temporary in-person psychological services across participating state boundaries.

Dr. Shore’s previous training experiences include working at inpatient hospitals, therapeutic nurseries, hospitals, and private practices conducting therapy and neuropsychological, psychological, and psycho-educational assessments for children, teens, and adults.
Dr. Shore began her training during her master’s program by interning at a short-stay inpatient psychiatric hospital. There, she conducted intake assessments, group therapy, family therapy, and gained experience in case management and discharge planning for children and teens. She then began her doctoral career with working at a therapeutic nursery conducting both therapy and psychological assessments for children ages 3-5 years old. Dr. Shore then continued her training at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital’s neuropsychological center where she conducted neuropsychological evaluations to children and teens with issues ranging from seizures and brain cancer, to children in comas, to ADHD and autism. She also gained therapy experience at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital working with a range of psychological issues in children and teens, and Children’s National Medical Center working in the hospital’s Hematology and Oncology clinic. She then finished her training at a private practice in Northern Virginia providing therapy and testing to people throughout the lifespan, with disorders ranging from anxiety and depression, to ADHD and autism, to psychosis, and everything in between.
Dr. Shore received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from West Virginia University and her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Radford University.
