Durriya Augelli

M.A.

Durriya is a Resident in Counseling who works with adults, young adults, couples, adolescents, and children ages 8 and up. She uses a collaborative person-centered approach and a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) model, integrating dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and Gestalt techniques. She looks at the whole person in their culture, environment, lifestyle, and important relationships. She uses a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to help people become their authentic selves and live their best lives.

Durriya treats anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, and more. She provides executive function improvement, stress and anger management, communication skill improvement, and de-escalation strategies. She has experience treating a variety of issues across the lifespan for individuals and couples as an intern in private practice. She ran content groups at a residential treatment facility for adolescents with co-occurring disorders. Her prior experience was working and volunteering in a variety of educational settings and within the military.

Durriya holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University, an MS in Counseling and Psychology from Troy State University, and dual BS in Mathematics and BA in Sociology from Villanova University.

Durriya loves mountain hikes, cultural foods, and connecting with her large family and friends.
