Anna Riley, M.Ed.
Resident in Counseling

Anna Riley is a Resident in Counseling who works with adults, young adults, teens ages 15 and older, and couples. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, difficulty regulating emotions, and concerns related to sexual intimacy.
Anna creates a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, build practical skills, and work toward meaningful change. Her person-centered, multicultural approach recognizes how each client’s identity, background, relationships, and environment shape their life. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring her approach to each client’s needs and goals. In her work with couples, she incorporates Gottman Method techniques to help partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and deepen connection.
Anna’s experience includes working with individuals and couples in private practice and equine-assisted therapy settings. She has facilitated a psychoeducational group teaching couples Gottman Method techniques and helped clients develop mindfulness and emotion regulation skills through work with horses.
Anna earned her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William & Mary, where she also earned her B.A. in Psychology and International Relations.
Outside of her work, Anna enjoys reading, baking, attending concerts, and spending time with loved ones.
