Jinshil (Casey) Kwak is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed to practice in Virginia. She works with children, adolescents, and adults. She treats a wide range of mental health diagnoses and has a particular interest in the management of depressive, bipolar and anxiety disorders. She aims to improve her patients’ quality of life through an individualized treatment plan and incorporating psychopharmacological interventions to fit the needs of each patient. 

Ms. Kwak’s professional focus is understanding each patient’s unique life experiences and conditions to provide well-rounded, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment. She takes a holistic approach to care and works to foster a therapeutic partnership with her patients. Also, she works with her patients to provide quality patient psychoeducation in order to allow for informed, collaborative decisions about the best care options available. 

Ms. Kwak obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and her Master’s degree from the University of Virginia. As a registered nurse, she worked in the local Community Health Center and Behavioral Mental Health at Dominion Hospital for several years prior to joining Fairfax Mental Health & Wellness. She speaks fluent English and Korean.
