Melissa Tortorice is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She joins Fairfax Mental Health & Wellness from a private practice in Beaumont, Texas.

Ms. Tortorice works with children, adolescents and adults (ages 7- 50 years old). She treats a range of psychiatric diagnoses and has a particular interest in the management of depressive, bipolar and anxiety disorders. She takes a holistic approach to care and works to develop a therapeutic partnership with her patients. She emphasizes age-appropriate medication education and takes time to ensure that patients of all ages understand what medication they are taking, why they are taking it, what it does in their body and what the potential side effects are. 

​Ms. Tortorice earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master’s degree from the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth in Houston, Texas. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston.
