Elizabeth Yeonas, MA
Elizabeth is a Resident Counselor and she completed her internship at a private practice in Woodbridge, VA. A career changer with a background in law and public health, she works with adults of all ages and couples under the supervision of Elizabeth Bailey. She has experience working with individuals dealing with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, family/work/life transitions, and relationship concerns. Her counseling approach is both psychodynamic and pragmatic, incorporating ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and practical problem-solving skills where needed. Elizabeth has special interests in the emotional and cognitive impact of speech/language impediments and disfluencies, as well as families with older adult concerns.
Elizabeth received a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Family Institute at Northwestern University (virtual campus), a MA in Public Health Promotion and Education from Marymount University, JD from Georgetown University and BA in Psychology from Duke University. She has lived in the Northern Virginia area for decades and enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband and adult children.
