Brittany Dawkins, Psy.D.
Dr. Brittany Dawkins is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides teletherapy to adolescents and adults (ages 12-30). Throughout her training in clinical psychology, she's had an unwavering focus on the needs of at-risk children, adolescents, and at-risk youth transitioning into adulthood. She's had the privilege of continuing her education and training with different populations including adults, families and veterans.
Dr. Dawkins has worked in various settings, including private practices, community agencies, foster care and group homes, schools and juvenile detention centers, inpatient facilities, and larger behavioral health organizations. Specifically, she's worked with juvenile sexual offenders and children struggling with the effects of traumatic histories. In working with these populations, she's become proficient in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy techniques, and sand-tray therapy; and in providing psychoeducation regarding sexuality, and STD/pregnancy prevention. Additionally, she has also completed comprehensive psychological integrated reports for patients with impairments in functioning due to problems related to behavior, trauma, emotion, and substance use.
Dr. Dawkins graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Shawnee University and a Master's in Psychology from Marshall University. She obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Albizu University in Miami, FL. Dr. Dawkins is a member of PSYPACT, an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology and the temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of psychology across state boundaries.
