Brittany Baloy, Psy.D.
Brittany Baloy is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in clinical psychological evaluations, forensic evaluations, and psychotherapy with adolescents and adults. She is certified to conduct forensic evaluations with adults to determine competency/capacity to stand trial (CST) and mental status at the time of the offense (MSO). Dr. Baloy is also receiving additional training in providing psychosexual risk evaluations. She currently conducts these evaluations under the supervision of a Certified Sexual Offender Treatment Provider (CSTOP) as she works to complete her certification. Please note, she is not offering forensic therapy services at this time.
Clinically, Dr. Baloy’s previous training experiences include working in outpatient private practices conducting therapy and assessments with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Baloy also previously trained at Children’s National Medical Center where she conducted neuropsychological assessments for a wide range of medical and neurological conditions such as epilepsy and stroke. She has completed forensic evaluator training through the University of Virginia’s Institute for Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy (ILPPP) and is on the Virginia Commonwealth’s list of certified forensic evaluators.
Her professional interests include forensic assessment, clinical psychodiagnostic assessment as well as the treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, chronic health conditions, and emotional regulation. Dr. Baloy approaches therapy from an eclectic orientation, incorporating various elements of CBT, psychodynamic, DBT, and family systems theory. She approaches therapy and testing from a holistic standpoint, incorporating various aspects that can influence functioning such as culture, social/institutional systems, and physical health.
Dr. Baloy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Psychology at George Mason University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP). She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
In her spare time, Dr. Baloy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new foods, traveling, and various arts or crafts activities.
