Anisah Mahmood, M.A., MCAP
Anisah Mahmood is a Doctoral Intern specializing in neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy for late adolescents and adults. With a culturally responsive approach to therapy that focuses on diversity and inclusion, she integrates psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to provide personalized treatment tailored to her clients.
Anisah has experience working in diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, psychiatric facilities, forensic environments, college counseling, and addiction and recovery. Additionally, she has conducted pre- and post-operative inpatient hospital assessments and led CBT- skill based group therapy, for perfectionism. Anisah’s clinical interests include the assessment of neurocognitive disorders, serious mental illness, depression, anxiety, athlete stress, and cultural concerns.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston, dual master’s degrees in clinical psychology and psychology from The Chicago School in Washington, D.C. and holds a graduate certificate in Addiction and Recovery from the University of Florida. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School.
